The History of General Electric

General Electric was formed in 1892 from the merger of two companies called the Edison General Electric Company and The Thomson-Houston Company. Charles A. Coffin, a former shoe manufacturer from Lynn, Massachusetts, was the founder of The Thomson-Houston Company, and Thomas Edison was the founder of the Edison General Electric Company
